For years I’d walk past galleries and want to go in, but something always stopped me — that feeling that you need to know something or to buy something, or just that you’ll be exposed as not belonging. So I just didn’t. And here going in as a small group took the pressure off completely, and Maira had a way of making it feel like galleries are simply open doors, not exclusive clubs.
